Financial Literacy Pathway

At JA, we understand that financial literacy is a vital skill often overlooked in traditional education. That's why we provide students with hands-on learning experiences, covering everything from budgeting and saving to understanding credit and debt. These experiences enable young people to develop a strong foundation in personal finance.

Recently, Pennsylvania become the 25th state to institute a financial literacy requirement in schools. This underscores the importance of equiping our youth with these essential skills. We believe in a bright future for our young people and acknowledge that our impact wouldn’t be possible without the support of our partners.

Partner Spotlight: Financial Literacy Pathway Lead Investor
Zeigler Family Foundation (ZFF) is in its 11th year of partnership with JA SEPA as the Financial Literacy Pathway Lead Investor! Together we have inspired and prepared over 25,000 young people across our region, engaging over 700 volunteers. Over the last decade, ZFF has committed over $700,000 towards JA’s financial literacy educational programming.

“Financial literacy is incredibly important for everyone. These skills will help students make wise money decisions so that they can become financially stable, build assets, and achieve their personal goals.”, Jenelle (Zeigler) Ross, Executive Director of Zeigler Family Foundation.
