JA Rising Women on October 30th

The Junior Achievement of Southeastern PA Team will be holding our annual JA Rising Women event on October 30th, 2024, at the Community College of Philadelphia. JA Rising Women empowers high school students through a transformative learning and coaching experience - encouraging students to explore all career possibilities, inspiring them to dream big, and preparing them to succeed. This event pairs 100 young women from Philadelphia high schools with 100 working professional women as volunteers for a day of soft skills activities, team builders, and networking. 

Agenda: 

8:30 AM – Student Arrival and Volunteer Registration 

9:00 AM – Opening Remarks 

9:10 AM – Keynote Speaker 

9:50 AM – Networking Activity 

10:00 AM – Discussion Panel 

10:45 AM – Resume Building 

11:10 AM – Personal Brand Building & Elevator Pitch 

11:30 AM – Informational Interviews 

12:00 PM – Networking Lunch 

12:55 PM – Closing Remarks and Departure 

 

Preparation includes attending a virtual training ahead of the event, completing registration with JA, and reviewing a Brief Guide for Volunteers. At the event, Volunteer guide students through JA developed activities for the day including resume building and informational interviews. Engage as a role model, model professionalism, answer student questions, and network.
