In Conjunction with the Philadelphia Chapter of the National African American Insurance Association (NAAIA), Chubb Insurance, and the Philadelphia Insurance Companies.
These contests are open to students enrolled in grades 10, 11 and 12 registered for the 2021 JA Inspire Virtual Career Exploration Fair
or who attend an area high school!
Three winners will be chosen for each writing contest:
1st Place $750
2nd Place $500
3rd Place $250

MAIRM Philly JA Essay Writing Contest
Each competitor will submit an essay on one of the following topics:
1. The COVID-19 pandemic has caused individuals and organizations to rethink their approach to assessing new and unknown risks. How has the pandemic impacted the risk management process? What has the pandemic taught you about managing risk?
2. The insurance industry is vital to our economy. How does this industry contribute to individuals, families, companies and other organizations?

Winning papers will be announced at the beginning of the school year.

MAIRM Chubb Juneteenth Essay Writing Contest
Each competitor will submit an essay on the following topic:
The Insurance and Risk Management Industry has historically provided African Americans with stable jobs and business opportunities. How can the industry continue to provide economic empowerment to African Americans?
